클로즈 이너프 시즌1: 5화 영어 표현 lounge, splurge, worship

 

애니메이션 <클로즈 이너프>는 30대 부부와 아이, 그리고 이혼한 커플의 일상을 담은 콘텐츠로, 실생활에 도움이 되는 표현이 많이 나옵니다. 갑자기 왜 애니메이션을 보는지 궁금하신 분들도 있을 겁니다. 올해 10회 차 정주행 하기로 한 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 잠시 멈추고, 리프레시할 겸 가볍게 골랐습니다. 방법은 간단합니다. 가장 먼저 영어 자막, 그리고 한영자막 동시에, 마지막으로 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 애니메니션의 장점은 재밌고, 짧다는 것인데요. 시청해 보니 꽤나 표현이 쏠쏠합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 공유합니다. :)

시즌 1: 5화 "로봇 가정교사/ 게임 최종단계 " 줄거리 ▼

캔디스의 성적이 안 좋아서 로봇 가정교사를 데려온 에밀리 조시 부부. 샌드앤본에 있는 상사의 별장에서 휴가를 보낼 생각이었지만 이것저것 마무리 되지 않아서 집에서 우울하게 보냅니다. 로봇 가정교사가 내는 문제를 계속 틀려서 자존감이 떨어진 캔디스에게 아빠 조시는 한 가지 조언을 해줍니다. 학교 성적도 중요하지만 좋아하는 일을 하라는 얘기였죠. 그리고서 로봇을 해킹해서 캔디스가 점수를 따도록 도와줍니다. 조시는 일을 갔다가 과거 게임을 만들 때 알던 남자를 만나고, 그가 성공해서 휴가를 즐기는 모습을 보면서 과거 마무리 하지 못한 게임에 집중하게 됩니다. 조시는 과연 게임을 마무리할 수 있을까요?

"Robot Tutor": Josh and Emily plan to spend their Spring Break by going to the beach, but must stay when Candice is revealed to have trouble learning and are equipped with a robot they cannot leave unattended. Meanwhile, Alex and Bridgette go in their stead for "divorce sex", but end up with different plans.

"Golden Gamer": After Josh meets a fellow game designer who has become a huge success, Josh tries to revive his unfinished game Dude Man, resulting in him reverting to an immature twenty-something. Meanwhile, Alex tries to earn the respect of his students by performing a dangerous stunt.

회차 감상 소감 ▼

조시가 만약 게임을 완성했다면 자신의 삶이 어떻게 달라졌을지 궁금해합니다. 잘 됐을 거라는 보장이 없는데도요. 물론 달라졌을 수도 있을 겁니다. 겪어봐야 아니까요. 우리는 언제나 하지 않은 일에 대해 후회를 합니다. 다행히 조시의 곁에서 다른 관점으로 상황을 바라 보게 해 준 에밀리덕분에 조시는 깨닫습니다.
