클로즈 이너프 시즌2 :1화 영어 표현 slurp, prickly, bail

30대 부부와 아이, 그리고 함께 사는 이혼한 커플의 일상을 그린 애니메이션 <클로즈 이너프> ! 재밌게 보고 있습니다. 시즌 1을 시청해 보니 일상 에피소드가 많아서  실생활에 도움이 되는 표현이 많이 나왔습니다. 심지어는 시트콤 프렌즈에 대한 언급도 잠시 나오더라구요. 너무 웃겼습니다. 갑자기 왜 애니메이션을 보는지 궁금하신 분들도 있을 겁니다. 올해 10회 차 정주행 하기로 한 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 잠시 멈추고, 리프레시할 겸 가볍게 골랐습니다. 방법은 간단합니다. 가장 먼저 영어 자막, 그리고 한영자막 동시에, 마지막으로 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 공유합니다. :)

시즌 2: 1화 "갈고닦아/ 기술자들 " 줄거리 ▼

조시는 딸 캔디스를 들어올려주다가 허리가 나가서 병원에 갑니다. 코어 근육이 부족해서 운동하라는 얘기를 듣고 헬스장에 등록합니다. 그리고 헬창이 되어 천상계 단계까지 도저합니다. 운동을 시작하니 운동하랴 단백질 챙겨 먹으랴 할 일이 많아지면서 정작 캔디스와는 멀어지게 되고, 마침내 천상계에 도달하여 킹콩이 된 상태로 캔디스와 시내를 휩쓸고 다닙니다. 그리고 엉덩이에 마취총 한 방 맞고 깨어나서 다시 말라깽이가 됩니다.

이웃집에 사는 랜디는 DNA 검사 결과 친부모가 살아있다는 얘기를 듣게 되고, 그들을 만나러갑니다. 알고 보니 그들은 왕년에 기름 도둑이었고 그래도 랜디는 친부모와 잘해보려고 하지만 다시 잘못된 행동을 반복하는 그들의 모습을 보면서 마음을 달리 먹습니다. 결국 길러준 엄마와 함께 사건을 해결하는 에피소드입니다. 

"Josh Gets Shredded": After breaking his back trying to lift Candice, Josh is told that he must exercise his core. He goes to a special gym that works its visitors until they are absolutely ripped. Soon, Josh becomes more obsessed with keeping his muscles than he does with wanting to play with Candice and tries to reach his peak.

"Meet the Frackers": Randy learns through a DNA test and Pearle that his biological parents, Debra (Wendie Malick) and Wyatt (David Koechner), are fuel thieves who did time in prison and now are on the straight and narrow with their own fracking business. But when Debra and Wyatt plot to frack the apartment for natural gas, Randy must choose between being like his criminal parents and saving his adopted family. Meanwhile, Josh buys Candice a leaf blower as a toy.

Wyatt: What do you expect us to do,
어쩌라고?
dump the gas back into the ground,

fill up the sinkhole,
싱크홀을 채우고 
and go back to bein' all buddy buddy?
저기 돌아가서 친구 놀이나 하라고?
