프렌즈 시즌3: 18화 영어표현 when it comes to, carry around

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 처음에는  10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 3: 18 화 "피비 동생의 애타는 사랑 " 줄거리 ▼

챈들러의 담배를 끊게 하기 위해서 레이첼이 최면 테이프를 주는데, 그 테이프는 여성용이어서 챈들러가 점점 여성스럽게 변하게 됩니다. 립글로스를 풍부하게 느끼면서 바르고, 샤워후에 머리에 수건을 얹어서 나온다던가, 레이첼의 블라우스를 보고 칭찬을 하는 식으로 말입니다. 피비의 동생 프랭크는 나이차이가 많이 나는 여자친구 앨리스를 소개시켜주는데, 결혼 하려는 두 사람을 피비가 말리려고 노력합니다. 하지만 프랭크가 너무 슬퍼하는 바람에 두 사람의 사랑의 깊이를 알게 되고 결국엔 피비도 두 손 두 발 다듭니다. 한편, 모니카가 일하는 식당에서 손님으로 온 피트가 그녀에게 호감을 표시하고 2만 달러를 팁으로 주고 갑니다. 그가 백만장자라는 사실을 알게 된 모니카는 팁에 대해 따지려고 그의 회사로 갔다가, 밥을 딱 한번만 먹어보고 결정하자는 그의 말에 일단 밥부터 먹고봅니다. 

One of Monica's customers leaves her a $20,000 tip that she considers to be a joke. He turns out to be billionaire Pete Becker (Jon Favreau) who wants to date Monica. Phoebe is shocked when her 18-year-old brother becomes engaged to his former teacher, Alice (Debra Jo Rupp), a woman more than twice his age. Phoebe convinces Alice to come to her apartment and tell Frank why the relationship cannot work, only for this to backfire when the couple become passionate upon seeing each other. Chandler uses a hypnosis audio tape while sleeping to quit smoking, but it is meant for women, which brings out his feminine side. Monica agrees to a date with Pete, who takes her out for pizza--in Italy.
