프렌즈 시즌7 :4화 영어표현 jump through hoops

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 7: 4화 "비밀은 없다" 줄거리 ▼

모니카는 피비와 무언가를 속삭이며 들어오는데, 이 모습을 본 챈들러는 매우 궁금해 합니다. 결국, 두 사람은 서로의 비밀을 공유하기로 했는데요. 챈들러는 과거 로스가 타코를 먹고 지렸던 이야기를 공유하게 됩니다. 이로써 타코에 대한 열망이 불붙은 모니카는 저녁식사로 타코를 준비하고, 갑자기 나타난 로스는 웃는 모니카의 모습을 보면서 자신의 비밀이 탄로가 났음을 알게 됩니다. 결국 세명이서 서로의 비밀을 폭로하는 장이 열립니다.

한편, 레이첼은 비서를 고용하게 되는데 경력이 있는 힐다를 고용할 것인지, 잘생기고 호감형인 태그를 고용할 것인지 고민합니다. 친구들의 조언에 따라 힐다를 고용했지만, 태그가 화분을 들고 감사인사를 전하러 오는 바람에 태그를 고용하고 다시 힐다를 자르게 됩니다. 조이는 드라마 '우리 생애 나날들'에 재출연 제의를 받고 제작사에 갔다가, 오디션을 봐야 한다는 말에 성을 내고 돌아옵니다. 맥앤치즈도 진행하는 상황에서 두려울게 없던 조이! 청천벽력처럼 맥앤치즈가 취소되고 조이는 이제 하루아침에 아무것도 남지 않은 상황이 되었습니다. 

 

Rachel must choose between a hunky young guy, Tag, and an experienced and well-qualified woman to hire as her executive assistant. Joey is offered the part of Dr. Stryker Ramoray, the twin of his old character Dr. Drake Ramoray, on Days of Our Lives, but is offended when he is asked to audition for the part. However, when Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E. is cancelled, Joey finds himself crawling back to the producers and eventually gets hired back onto the show as Dr. Drake Ramoray who is now recovering from his big fall down an elevator shaft. Monica, Chandler, and Ross reveal all untold secrets about one another: Monica tells Phoebe's secret about a massage employee getting fired, Chandler reveals about his trip to Disneyland where Ross ended up ill on a ride after eating road-side tacos, Ross tells Monica about an Atlantic City trip where Chandler accidentally kissed a guy, Fat Monica ate her macaroni diorama, and Ross slept with the cleaning lady back in college.

   *help me에 비교하면 help me out이 조금 더 감정적이거나 긴급한 상황에서 사용될 수 있다. 어려운 상황에 처한 상태에서 도와달라는 의미라고도 한다.
