프렌즈 시즌1: 19화 영어 표현 make one's toe curl, in the mood

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 9회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 1: 19화 "마르셀의 가출" 줄거리 ▼

에마의 첫 번째 추수감사절! 레이첼과 로스의 집에 레이첼의 철부지 동생 에이미가 찾아와 헤어 스트레이너를 빌려달라고 합니다. 설상가상으로 그녀의 데이트 취소까지 겹쳐서 좌절하는 상황. 결국 레이첼은 에이미를 모니카와 친구들의 추수감사절 식사에 함께 데려가 기로 합니다. 모니카와 챈들러의 비싼 접시를 두고 식사를 하는 친구들. 에이미와 레이첼은 싸움이 붙어 접시를 하나 깨버리고 화가 난 챈들러가 한마디 하자 상황은 종료됩니다. 추수 감사절은 어떻게 마무리 됐을까요?

 

Rachel is depressed after reading that Barry and Mindy are engaged. The gang frantically searches for Marcel, who slipped out of the apartment while Rachel was watching him. Rachel, unaware Marcel is an illegal exotic pet, calls Animal Control, angering Ross. The animal control officer is Rachel and Monica's old high school classmate who has a long-standing grudge against Rachel, who has no memory of her. She refuses to release Marcel until Rachel threatens to report her for accidentally shooting Phoebe with a tranquilizer dart. After, Ross finds the courage to romantically pursue Rachel but Barry, Rachel's ex-fiance, barges in declaring he still loves her.
