프렌즈 시즌6 : 5화 영어 표현 peace of mind, get someone into something,

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도 그렇습니다. 10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중입니다. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍기도 한데요. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 공유합니다. ^^

시즌 6: 5화 "로스와 레이첼의 이혼" 줄거리 ▼
로스가 혼인 무효 신청을 하지 않았다는 사실을 알게 된 레이첼은 분노하고 로스는 방어합니다. 조이는 커피 하우스에서 포르쉐 키를 발견하고, 포르쉐 앞 유리에 메모를 남겨 주인을 찾아주려다가 여성들의 열렬한 호감 표현에 주인행세를 하게 됩니다. 급기야 모니카에게 세차 도구를 빌려서 세차를 하게 되는데요. 그 사이에 주인이 와서 포르쉐를 끌고 갑니다. 차가 없어진 조이는 의복을 온통 포르쉐로 치장합니다. 

모니카와 챈들러는 피비와 함께 잠시 세 쌍둥이를 돌보게 됩니다. 허나 아이들을 돌보는 것도 잠시, 챈들러가 장난감 부속품을 삼켜 버려서 응급실에 가게 되고, 혼자 남겨진 피비는 쌍둥이들을 열심히 돌보지만 집안은 난장판이 되고 말죠. 한편 레이첼은 로스와의 혼인 무효 신청을 위해 법원에 갑니다. 레이첼은 사실이 아니고 이상한 내용으로 혼인 무효 신청서를 작성했고, 이를 들은 로스는 넘어가지 않고 사실을 짚으려고 노력합니다. 무효 신청서의 대부분이 허위라는 사실을 알게 된 판사 앞에서 싸움이 나고, 급기야는 속기사에게 분노를 터트립니다. 결국 혼인 무효 신청은 마치지 못한 채 귀가하게 되죠. 대신 이혼 서류를 챙겨 온 로스에게 화풀이를 하며 레이첼은 서명을 하고 로스가 변호사에게 서류를 전달하기로 함으로써 이혼은 마무리됩니다. ^^

Rachel forces Ross to get the annulment, and as retribution for him lying to her, she fills out the annulment paperwork saying Ross is gay, mentally unstable, and addicted to intravenous drugs. When Ross contests the false information and reveals their previous relationship, the judge (Conchata Ferrell) then disallows an annulment and rules they must obtain a divorce. Ross is miserable, but cheers up when Rachel confesses that getting married was her idea. They share a brief moment of thought, confessing they believed that if they ever got married together it would last. Joey tries to impress girls by pretending to own a Porsche, whose owner left its keys in Central Perk. Phoebe recruits Monica and Chandler to help her babysit the triplets, but Monica takes Chandler to the emergency room when he swallows a toy gun, leaving Phoebe alone.

Chandler: Yeah, I'm gonna pass
because I was kind of iffy
when it was puppies.

All right, now, I'm gonna do this my way,
and I don't wanna hear a peep out of you.

Ross: Okay, Rach, but...

Rachel : Ah, you're peeping.

Phoebe: Well, you can't answer.
Leslie? Where are you, Leslie?

Leslie, now would be a good time

Well, looka at you.

My gosh.
Oh, you're a lot mischievous.
Well, it will dry.

Ross, just for my own peace of mind you're not married to any more of us, are you? (로스가 레이첼과 혼인무효를 신청하지 않았다는 사실을 알게되자 챈들러가 농담한다)
*peace of mind : a feeling of calm or not being worried
So... Sorry I got us into this whole thing. (로스에게 술취해서 결혼하는 게 더 재미있을 거라며 부추긴 자신의 실수에 대해 인정하고 털어놓는 레이첼)
*get (someone) into something: to (cause someone to) become involved in a difficult situation, often without intending to.
*Are you trying to get me into trouble?
I know I divorce a lot of women.  Never thought I'd be divorcing you. (많은 여자들과 이혼했지만 레이첼과 이혼하게 될 줄은 몰랐다는 로스)
