프렌즈 시즌6 : 7화 영어 표현 look alike, square away

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도 그렇습니다. 10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중입니다. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍기도 한데요. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 공유합니다. ^^

시즌 6: 7화 "피비와 레이첼의 조깅" 줄거리 ▼
피비의 집에서 살게 된 레이첼은 자동응답기의 녹음 멘트도 바꾸고 이것저것 함께 할 생각에 들떠있습니다. 그러다 레이첼의 제안으로 같이 조깅을 하게 되는데요. 피비가 이상하게 뛰는 걸 보고 레이첼은 질색하며 친구들에게 어째야 할지 묻고 결국 모니카가 발 걸어서 다쳤다고 거짓말을 합니다. 우연히 공원에서 피비를 만나고 솔직하게 털어놓습니다. 뛰는 모습이 조금 이상해서 창피했다며 말이죠. 그러자 피비는 레이첼의 소리 내며 뛰는 습관을 지적하며 그렇다고 해서 그녀가 레이첼을 창피해하지 않는다는 점을 상기시킵니다. 

조이는 새로운 매력적인 댄서 룸메이트 재닌을 친구들에게 소개합니다. 친구들은 룸메이트와 데이트하면 너무 불편해 진다며 조이를 말리는데요. 만약 그들이 헤어지고 나서 마주치게 된다면 얼마나 어색하겠는지 짚어줍니다. 매력적이고 여성스러운 물건을 여기저기 늘어놓는 그녀와 엮이지 않기 위해 정을 뗄 방법을 배우게 됩니다. 챈들러와 로스를 통해서 말이죠..

이삿짐을 다 푼 챈들러는 모니카에게 칭찬 받기위해 청소도 하고 이것저것 기구를 옮깁니다. 다만 모니카의 방식대로 100퍼센트 옳게 만들지 않았기 때문에 문제가 생깁니다. 수습을 했지만 모니카는 집 안이 달라진 것을 발견하고, 챈들러의 설명에 모니카는 화 내기보다는 감동을 받고 기뻐합니다..^^

Rachel moves in with Phoebe. However, Rachel is embarrassed by Phoebe's odd running style and attempts to avoid her during their morning jogs through Central Park. Joey takes in a new roommate: dancer Janine (played by Elle Macpherson). Chandler wants to impress Monica by cleaning the apartment but panics when he forgets where everything is supposed to go.

would be embarrasing to you.
Yeah, okay. You're uptight.

Rachel: What? I am not uptight.
Listen, I am not uptight, man.

Phoebe: That's okay, Rachel.
I'm not judging you. That's just who you are.
