프렌즈 시즌 6 : 22화 영어 표현 jog someone's memory

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도 그렇습니다. 10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중입니다. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍기도 한데요. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 공유합니다. ^^

시즌 6: 22화 "로스와 폴" 줄거리 ▼
폴은 결국 엘리자베스와 로스가 교제하는 것을 반대합니다. 어느날, 오두막집에 숨어서 둘만의 시간을 즐기던 로스와 엘리자베스는 잠시 그녀가 물건을 사러 간 사이에 폴과 레이첼이 방문하게 됩니다. 로스는 폴의 눈을 피해 소파 아래에 숨어있다가, 뭔가를 흘린 레이첼과 마추치게 됩니다. 화들짝 놀란 레이첼은 폴에게 다이어트 콜라 한 잔이 마시고 싶다며 주방으로 보내고, 그 사이 로스와 대화를 합니다. 엘리자베스가 돌아와 폴과 레이첼을 발견해서 깜짝 놀라며 레이첼과 입을 맞추고, 로스는 폴의 방에 숨어 있다가 폴이 춤도 추고 노래도 부르며 자신감을 복돋는 것을 발견합니다. 끝내 로스를 발견하게 된 폴은 로스에게 한 마디 하는데, 로스는 자신도 'neat' 가이라며 폴이 방에서 몰래 했던 춤과 대사를 짚어줍니다. 

장난삼아 예식장을 예약한 모니카는 챈들러에게 그 사실을 들키고, 챈들러는 식겁하는데요...^^

Paul disapproves of Ross' relationship with Elizabeth and threatens to have him fired unless they break up. Meanwhile, Paul and Rachel begin dating. Ignoring Paul's threats, Ross and Elizabeth sneak away to her family's cabin, unaware Paul and Rachel have the same plan. As a lark, the girls put their names down on a popular wedding venue's long waiting list. When the venue happens to get back to Chandler about a cancellation, he panics and promptly bolts. Monica finds him and assures him it was not a serious reservation, little realizing that Chandler is actually planning to propose.

Rachel: It's so secluded up here.

Paul: I know. That's why I like it here.

Rachel: I feel like we're the only two people
in the world.

• The present meaning is to seclude the bride from the groom before the ceremony.

Ross: Okay, fine. Fine. Have me fired.
But, I want you to know
that you and I are
not all that different. I mean...
I, too, am a neat guy.

Paul: What?

Ross : And I, too...
am just a love machine.

 
Neat:
