프렌즈 시즌2: 15화 영어 표현 be into each other, You were worth the wait

 

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 처음에는  10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 2: 화 "로스와 레이첼" 줄거리 ▼

모니카의 출장 요리 날에 웨이트리스를 하기로 한 레이첼은 로스와의 데이트를 위해 빠집니다. 대신 피비가 그 역할을 해주기로 합니다. 모니카와 피비가 향한 곳은 모니카의 부모님의 친구, 리처드가 있는 곳이었습니다. 조이는 드라마에 고정 출연하면서 집에 티비와 소파를 장만합니다. 로스와 레이첼은 즐겁게 데이트를 하지만 레이첼은 상황이 믿기지가 않아 자꾸만 웃습니다. 로스는 걱정되기 시작합니다. 모니카는 결국 리처드에 빠져 데이트를 합니다. 

 

Joey buys a big screen TV and two leather recliners with his soap opera salary, turning him and Chandler into "couch potatoes" who spend days watching TV and never getting out of the chairs. Monica has a catering job for handsome Dr. Richard Burke (Tom Selleck), an ophthalmologist, who is an old family friend. He and Monica are mutually smitten and later go on a date. Ross and Rachel attempt to have their first real date, though Rachel has difficulty adapting to their new romantic relationship, breaking into giggles at inappropriate times. Just before their next date, Ross has a museum emergency, so Rachel tags along. They spend the night in a museum exhibit, waking up nude and under an animal skin, to visitors (mostly children) gawking at them.

Ross: No, Homo hanilis was erect.
호모 하빌리스가 두 발로 걷죠

Australopithecus was never fully erect.
오스트랄로피테쿠스는 똑바로 못 서요

Chandler: Well, maybe he was nervous.
많이 긴장했나 보네

Rachel: So, what are we looking at?

Ross: Well, you see that,

head tilt 머리를 약간 기우뚱하게 기울이는 포즈  head bob 고개를 끄덕이는 포즈, 닥터 버크가 이혼후에 겪는 상황을 머리의 움직임으로 잘 표현했다

I mean, we're crossing that line. It's sort of a big thing. 로스와 키스하더니 웃는 레이첼, 이유를 물어보니 손이 엉덩이에 있다는걸 인식하고 결국 약간은 긴장돼서 그렇다고 한다
Okay, listen. I'm sorry about last night. And I really want to make it up to you. 어젯밤에 웃어서 미안하다고, 만회하고 싶다는 레이첼
You were worth the wait. And I don't just mean tonight. 기다리게 해서 미안하다는 로스에게 대답하는 레이첼
