영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 공유합니다. :)

시즌 3: 8화 "챈들러와 제니스의 이별" 줄거리 ▼
제니스가 전 남편과 키스하고 다니는 모습을 본 조이는 챈들러에게 어렵게 이 사실을 알립니다. 상심에 빠진 챈들러는 어찌해야 할 지를 모르는데, 조이가 조언합니다. 제니스는 전 남편과 아이도 있으니 그녀를 놓아줘야 한다고 말입니다. 챈들러는 그녀를 놓아주기로 하고, 설득된 제니스는 가정으로 돌아갑니다. 그리고 챈들러에게 자신의 소울메이트라고 말을 하면서 안타까워 합니다. 그런 그녀의 반응을 보고 챈들러는 그렇다면 가지말라고 말리지만 제니스는 끝내 가버립니다.
피비는 치과에 가면 누군가 죽거나 다치는 경험이 있습니다. 그래서 치과에 가지 않고 버티려 합니다. 이가 너무 아파서 치과에 하는 수 없이 갔는데 다행히 주변 사람들 모두가 무사했습니다. 단, 건너편의 어글리 네이키드 가이가 좀 수상합니다. 내내 움직이지 않는 그의 모습이 걱정된 친구들은 젓가락을 모아서 그를 찔러 볼 생각을 합니다. 그리고 정말 찔러보는데 그는 다행히 살아있었습니다. 모니카는 조카 벤과 놀아주다가 벤이 머리를 찧어서 혹이 생깁니다. 이 모습을 감추려고 모자도 씌워주고 뇌물로 아이스크림도 먹이지만 아무것도 모르는 벤이라도 딱 하나는 알고있습니다. 모니카 뱅. 모니카가 놀라서 레이첼과 함께 머리를 부딪히는 장면이 재밌습니다.
When Chandler wants to buy Janice an expensive gift for her birthday, Joey reveals that he saw her kissing her ex-husband. Upon confronting her about the kiss and heeding Joey's advice, Chandler reluctantly breaks up with her. While babysitting Ben, Monica accidentally bumps his head on a post. Both Monica and Rachel try to hide the bump from Ross, though Ross manages to guilt trip his sister and ultimately bumps his head afterwards, also on a post and seemingly on the same spot as his son. Phoebe has a bad toothache but fears going to the dentist because it always leads to somebody that she knows dying. She finally visits the dentist after Rachel urges her to, and upon returning, is relieved to find out that everybody she knows is still alive, thereby "breaking the curse". However, her happiness is short-lived when the gang notices shortly afterwards that Ugly Naked Guy has been lying motionless in his apartment in the adjacent building for the entire day. The gang then fashions a long and giant poking device using only chopsticks to determine if he is alive and is relieved when he swats it away.
