프렌즈 시즌3 : 21화 영어 표현 pay your dues, have second thoughts

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 처음에는  10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 3: 21 화 "병아리와 오리, 그리고 두 남자" 줄거리 ▼

피트는 모니카에게 레스토랑의 셰프가 되어달라고 제안하고, 모니카는 그가 그녀를 사랑해서 그런 제안을 한 것이라고 여기며 거절합니다. 그러나 피트는 거짓말을 해 가면서 그녀에게 레스토랑 셰프 자리를 제안합니다. 결국 셰프가 되기로 한 모니카는 레스토랑의 모습을 보면서 들뜨지만, 피트가 그녀의 머리 냄새를 맡는 것을 눈치채고는 그에게 셰프 자리를 거절하겠다고 합니다. 그리고선 피트에게 상처를 주기 싫다면서 더이상 보지말자고 인사하고 마지작 포옹을 하는데요. 그순간 피트는 모니카에게 작별 키스를 하고, 모니카는 이전과는 다른 뭔가를 느낍니다. 레이첼은 갈비뼈가 다쳐서 로스와 함께 병원을 갑니다. 로스는 원래 박물관 행사에서 촬영할 계획이 있었지만 레이첼을 위해 제안을 거절합니다. 그 사실을 알게된 레이첼은 로스에게 고마움을 표현합니다. 두 사람 사이에서 무언가 오고가고요. 챈들러는 조이가 데려온 병아리를 잘 보살피는데, 어쩌다보니 보호소에서 오리까지 데려옵니다. 

 *처음에 조이가 병아리를 데려오고 그 다음에 보호소에서 챈들러가 오리를 데려온 거군요. 정주행 8번만에 겨우 인식을 했습니다. 챈들러가 오리를 데려온 사연을 들어보면 그가 얼마나 정이 많고 자상한 사람인지 알 수 있습니다. 한편 로스가 전 여자친구 레이첼에게 벗은 모습을 얼마든지 상상할 수 있다면서 장난치는 모습은 좀 불편했습니다.  그러면서 레이첼에게 철 좀 들으라고 하는데, 글쎄요 두 사람이 좋다면 그걸로 된거지만 보는 사람 입장에서는 좀 별로였습니다. 

Pete offers Monica the head chef job at a new restaurant he just bought, but she suspects he is using it to woo her. When he insists he is over her and has met someone else, Phoebe correctly surmises he is lying. While Pete and Monica inspect the restaurant, Monica realizes Pete's true motive, then surprisingly discovers she has genuine feelings for him. Joey and Chandler adopt a chick and a duck. When Rachel struggles to get ready for a work event due to a broken rib, Ross tries to assist her, then ultimately skips being on a panel for the Discovery Channel to take her to a hospital when he realizes she is in too much pain to attend the event. This leaves her touched by what he gave up to help her, and she is left feeling positive about him for the first time in a long time.
