프렌즈 시즌4 : 14화 영어 표현 just because... doesn't mean

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 처음에는  10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 4: 14 화 "실연의 3단계 법칙" 줄거리 ▼

캐시와 헤어진 챈들러가 실연의 아픔을 극복하는 3단계 과정을 담았습니다. 트레이닝복을 입고 앉아 있다가, 때가 되어 스트립 클럽에 가려고 하는데 어쩌다보니 여자 친구들과 스트립 클럽에 가는 모습이 읏겼던 에피소드입니다.

Chandler is depressed over his break-up with Kathy, leading to the girls intervening to help him get over the latter. One of the plans involves bringing Chandler to a strip club. However, the plan backfires when the girls inadvertently sideline him. With no other options, Rachel asks for Ross's help after she accidentally becomes double-booked with Joshua and her boss, with the former inviting her to an inaugural club opening and the latter wanting her to accompany his niece, Emily, to an opera concert. Much to Ross’s chagrin, he agrees to meet Emily and take her to the opera concert. In the end, Ross and Emily hit it off and ultimately end up spending the weekend together at a Bed & Breakfast in Vermont, whereas Rachel is unable to enter the club that she has been invited to due to a mix-up and ends up not meeting Joshua at all. Meanwhile, Joey arrives home with an unpleasant odor following a three-day fishing trip with his father. He oversleeps and rushes to a movie set without showering. He later sneaks into Charlton Heston's dressing room to take a shower and gets caught doing so by the latter.

but there was a Rachel Greep.

Phoebe: So, did you get to meet her?

Rachel: No, there is no Rachel Greep.
But then this other gril overheard us.
And she was all, "I'm Rachel Greep,"
and he let her right in.

Monica: So you hit her in the face?

Rachel: No, she was already in.
But then this big bitch behind me
tried to steal my umbrella,
so I clocked her.
