프렌즈 시즌7 : 7화 영어 표현 brush up (on) something, lay the groundwork for

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 7: 7화 "도서관을 사수하라" 줄거리 ▼

조이는 4개국어를 하는 여자, 에린,와 하룻밤을 지내고 헤어지려다가 여자 친구들이 하도 적극적으로 두사람을 이어주는 바람에 몇번을 더 만나게 됩니다. 마침 그녀가 좋아지던 참에, 이번에는 에린이 조이와 오래 가지 못할 것 같다며 여자 친구들에게 부탁을 합니다. 그렇게 두 사람의 연애는 끝이 나고요. 조이를 결혼시키고 싶어하던 여자 친구들은 안타까워합니다.

심심했던 로스는 도서관에서 이런저런 이름을 검색해 보면서 시간을 보냈습니다. 그러다 자신의 논문이 도서관에 있음을 발견하고 기쁜 마음에 서가로 달려갔습니다. 하지만 왠 커플들이 애정행각을 하는 장소로 바뀌었고, 도서관 책임자에게 말했지만, 인력이 부족하여 로스가 직접 망을 보게 됩니다. 그리고 로스는 자신의 책을 읽었다는 아름다운 여성을 만나게 되는데요...

Ross is excited that his dissertation has been published and is currently placed in the school library, but he soon learns that it is in an isolated aisle where students go to hook up. He then tries guarding the aisle (and effectively his dissertation) from more potential hook-ups, but soon finds himself jumping on the bandwagon when he encounters a woman there who admires his work, and the pair ends up getting caught by the library staff. Rachel and Phoebe believe that they have found the perfect girl (Kristin Davis) for Joey. When Janice invites herself to Chandler’s and Monica's wedding, the couple tries dissuading her from attending by convincing her that Chandler still has feelings for her.
