프렌즈 시즌8 : 8화 영어 표현 be/get in on something, straighten out

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 8: 8화 "뒤늦은 총각 파티" 줄거리 ▼

피비가 엉겹결에 모니카의 처녀 파티를 말해버리는 바람에, 모니카는 챈들러에게 총각 파티를 열어주기로 합니다. 레이첼은 아버지에게 임신했다는 사실을 밝히고, 동시에 로스와 결혼하지 않을 것임도 알립니다. 그러자 아버지의 분노가 이만저만이 아닙니다.

Rachel has dinner with her dad to tell him she is pregnant, but intimidated by him, she lies and says Ross is un-supportive. Dr. Green then threatens Ross which nearly ruins his budding romance with Mona. Meanwhile, Monica hires a stripper for Chandler who never got to have a bachelor party, unaware the woman is actually a hooker.

I wouldn't wait on you tonight.

Ross: Yeah.

Rachel: I mean, he was possessive, he was jealous.
He could never
just let the little things go.

Ross: Trying to date this woman.

 

possessive:

I bet Ross was in on it too. I mean, he was conveniently busy. (모니카가 스트리퍼가 아니라 후커를 보낸 것에 대해 로스는 뭔가 알거라고 생각한 조이) ~에 대해 알다, 관여하다

How could you have kept all of this from me? (레이첼이 임신하고 결혼하려고 얘기하는 등 그 모든 사실을 자신에게 어떻게 숨길수 있냐며 묻는 모나)

I know. Mona, just hear me out. (레이첼) 내 얘기 좀 잘 들어봐

   *At least hear me out before making up your mind.
