영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 9: 3화 "소아과 의사를 찾아라" 줄거리 ▼
레이첼은 소아과 의사에게 하도 전화를 해대는 통에 새로운 소아과 의사를 구하게됩니다. 로스가 어릴때 함께 좋은 추억을 쌓은 소아과 의사를 추천받습니다. 피비와 조이는 서로에게 데이트 상대를 데려와 더블 데이트를 하기로 합니다. 조이가 데이트를 잊어버리는 바람에 상대를 커피하우스에서 갑작스럽게 마련합니다. 그의 이름은 마이크로 공짜 저녁을 사준다는 얘기에 참여하게 되는거죠.
Monica is offered a great job in New York City and Chandler, unable to get out of moving to Tulsa, is forced to commute back and forth between the two cities. Phoebe and Joey set each other up on blind dates. Joey finds a complete stranger named Mike (Paul Rudd) for Phoebe's date. Rachel's pediatrician, Dr. Weiner, drops her due to her obsessive phone calls. She then takes Emma to Dr. Gettleman, Ross and Monica's pediatrician as children, but learns that Ross is still his patient.

Receptionist: The doctor will be right with you, sir.

That's because we had a bit of a falling out. (오랫동안 조이와 마이크는 친구였는데 어떻게 한번도 들어보지 못했냐며 피비가 의아해하자 조이가 사이가 틀어졌었다며 둘러댄다)

You just... find some guy off the street for me? (조이에게 데이트 상대로 아무데 데려왔다고 화내는 피비)
Okay. You think, maybe, sometime I could take you out? (가끔 데이트 신청해도 좋겠냐고 피비에게 묻는 마이크)
I got held up at Dr. Gettleman's office. (소아과 의사의 사무실에 잠시 발이 묶여있던 로스)
Any chance you're trying to pick a fight to make all of this easier? (챈들러가 간다니까 삐져서 고개를 돌리는 조이에게 이야기하는 챈들러)
*pick a fight: to intentionally start a fight
* A drunken man came over to our table and he purposely tried to pick a fight with me for no reason.
Call me when you land. (전화로 챈들러에게 도착하면 연락하라는 조이)
