프렌즈 시즌9: 6화 영어 표현 be on a roll, my thing, be up for

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 8회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 9: 6화 "애 보는 남자" 줄거리 ▼

보모를 구하기로 한 로스와 레이첼 커플은 샌디라는 남자를 보모를 채용합니다. 그러나 그가 너무 감수성이 풍부해서 로스는 불편해 하는데요. 알고보니 로스의 과거와 연관이 있던 성격입니다. 무슨 일일까요? 챈들러는 모니카가 직장에서 만난 가장 웃긴 남자에 대한 얘기에 질투심이 불타 웃긴 얘기를 지어내고, 피비는 갑자기 찾아온 데이비드를 반가워하지만 한편으로는 마이크에 대해 생각합니다.

Ross and Rachel hire Sandy (Freddie Prinze Jr.), a male nanny. Even though Sandy says he's straight, Ross finds him a bit feminine and does not like the influence he has on, not only Rachel, but Joey as well. After finding out that Sandy plays the recorder, can bake and does puppet shows, Ross fires him. Sandy does not take it badly, and instead comforts Ross about his childhood which involved bad memories of his father Jack.

No. Being funny's your thing. Without that, you just got lame with women. (챈들러가 남을 웃기는 것에 대해 자신이 집착하는 것이냐고 묻자 조이가 웃음을 주는 것은 챈들러의 일이아며 용기를 복돋아준다)
Really? Do you not know Chandler? (모니카에게 직장에서 가장 재밌는 남자를 만났다고 챈들러에게 얘기했냐고 묻더니 그렇다고 하자 또다시 묻는 조이)
Not knowing when to shout up. (로스의 thing을 알려주는 조이. 챈들러와 레이첼이 농담에 대해 이야기 나누는 사이에 로스가 자신이 알려준 유머라며 끼어든 상황이다)
Yep. That's my thing. (수긍하는 로스)
Who's up for puppets? (누구 인형극 할 사람? 신나게 묻는 샌디)
