시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하시는 분 많이 계실겁니다. 저도 벌써 7회차 정주행하고요.

그동안 귀로 듣고, 입으로 말했다면, 이제는 어휘나 문법을 찾아서 공부해 보고있습니다.

 

이번 포스팅은 프렌즈 시즌3 :23화 에서 '알아두면 좋을 표현'입니다.

시즌 3: 23화 "로스의 민망한 비밀" 줄거리 ▼

로스는 엉덩이 부분에 뭔가나서 병원을 전전하며 제거하기 위해 고생합니다. 한편, 피비는 양다리를 걸칩니다. 소방관과 유치원 교사를 번갈아 가면서 은밀한 연애를 즐기죠.

Afflicted with a mysterious skin condition on his back, Ross seeks advice from Phoebe's herbalist (Kevin McDonald). Unable to choose between dating a hunky fireman or a smart kindergarten teacher, Phoebe attempts to date both, though neither is entirely what she believes them to be. Monica thinks Pete wants to break up after he says they "need to talk" when he returns from Atlanta. Monica thinks Pete is going to propose when she finds a receipt from a ring designer. To her initial relief and then shock, Pete had a professional athletic ring built to pursue his dream of being an Ultimate Fighting champion.

Chandler: Okay. How'd it go at the doctor's?

Ross: Well, he said there's definitely
nothing to worry about.

It's totally benign.

Joey: Well, what is it?

Ross: He couldn't even tell me.

And the worst thing is,

정확한 병명을 몰라서 제거해 줄 수 없대

 

Benign :

reluctant : 

1. not willing to do something and therefore slow to do it:

• I was having such a good time I was reluctant to leave.
• Many parents feel reluctant to talk openly with their children.
• She persuaded her reluctant husband to take a trip to Florida with her.

be stumped:

1. (be stumped) to be unable to answer a question or solve a problem because it is too difficult:
