시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하시는 분 많이 계실겁니다. 저도 벌써 7회차 정주행하고요.
그동안 귀로 듣고, 입으로 말했다면, 이제는 어휘나 문법을 찾아보려고 합니다.
이번 포스팅은 프렌즈 시즌3 :24화 에서 '알아두면 좋을 표현'입니다.
어휘의 경우, 케임브리지 영영사전을 이용하였습니다. ^^
시즌 3: 24화 "종합 격투기 챔피언" 줄거리 ▼
Monica tries to support Pete's UFC dreams, but after his brutal losses, she says she cannot stay if he continues, then breaks up with him after he refuses to quit. Chandler has a problem when his new boss keeps slapping his butt in a friendly but inappropriate manner but at the end he lets his new boss slap his butt after feeling left out. Phoebe sets Ross up on a date with Bonnie (Christine Taylor), a pretty girl who used to shave her head. Rachel is not happy to see that Bonnie is now a very hot blonde, nor that Ross likes her a lot.
Chandler: What is with him?
Mr. A: "With him?"
You're his favorite.
You're his guy!
Mr. B: We never get smacked.
Smack:
- to hit someone or something forcefully with the flat inside part of your hand, producing a short, loud noise, especially as a way of punishing a child:
- I never smack my children.
- I'll smack your bottom if you don't behave yourself.
Chandler: No, I just didn't do them.
Instead, I hung out with some friends
and had a couple of beers, so..
I certainly don't deserve any praise.
Verbal or otherwise.
Doug: I got tanked myself last night.
Pretty dicey drive home.
Tappan Zee Bridge never looked smaller.
That's okay. You're still

dicey:
- slightly dangerous or uncertain
- The company's finances look a little dicey.
- Things are going to be a bit dicey until we know whether the budget was approved.
Chandler: Doug!
I'm a little bit uncomfortable
with the way that you express yourself.
Doug: Oh, is it the swearing?
Is it the constant swearing?
Because I gotta tell you, if it is,
you can just kiss my ass!
Swearing:
- rude or offensive language that someone uses, especially when they are angry
- He got the sack for swearing.
- I was shocked at the swearing.
- She was swearing something terrible.
Yeah, could you scooch? 커피 하우스 카우치에 앉아있는 친구들에게 자리 좀 좁혀앉아줄 수 없겠냐는 손님
Good to have you aboard, Bing! 챈들러의 상사 더그가 챈들러의 엉덩이를 장난스럽게 때리며
When I set out to create MOSS 865, do you think it just happend overnight? 모니카가 첫 싸움에서 완전히 깨진 피트에게 자랑스럽다고 나중에 후회 안할거라고 얘기하자 그만둘 생각이 없다며 과거 이야기를 꺼내는 피트
