프렌즈 시즌5 : 12화 영어 표현 have a thing

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도요.
10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중인데요. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍습니다. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만해요. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 공유할게요. ^^

시즌 5: 12화 "챈들러는 아첨꾼" 줄거리 ▼

챈들러가 직장에서 이상하게 큰 소리를 내며 웃는 것을 보고 못마땅해 하는 모니카. 레이첼은 모니카에게 가서 챈들러와의 관계를 안다고 말합니다. 그러나 모니카는 끝까지 아니라며 잡아뗍니다. 로스는 누군가를 만나는데, 그게 바로 제니스라는 게 밝혀집니다. 제니스는 로스의 징징대는 성격을 못 이기고 헤어집니다. 공통점이 많은 두 사람의 결합이 웃긴 에피소드입니다...^^

Ross starts playing the keyboards again after much prompting from Phoebe. His musical compositions leave the gang aghast, except for Phoebe who thinks they are brilliant. Chandler's feelings towards Kathy reach a breaking point after they kiss. Guilt-ridden, he eventually tells Joey the truth and then vainly tries to fix things but to no avail. Joey is outraged by Chandler’s betrayal even though he is dating another woman at the same time.

Ross: Ugh, I was up all night writing this
really nasty letter to Emily.
It was perfect,
and now it's all coverd in...

Chander: So I laugh at my boss's jokes.
What's the big deal?

Monica: I'd rather not hang out with
this sniveling work weasel guy
When I can be hanging out with my boyfriend
who I actually respect.

 

Sniveling:

1. used to describe someone you do not like because they are weak and unpleasant:

• That snivelling creep/coward!

 

weasel:

Janice: Unfortunately...
I just don't think I can take another second of you whining!

Ross: Let me make sure I'm hearing this right.
You're ending this with me because...
I'm too whiny?

 

Whiny:
