프렌즈 시즌8: 14화 영어 표현 off the top of one's head, be better off

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도 그렇습니다. 10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중입니다. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍기도 한데요. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. ^^

시즌 8: 14화 "모니카의 비밀창고" 줄거리 ▼

챈들러는 모니카의 숨겨진 창고를 열기 위해 애쓰고, 조이는 그 안에 리처드가 숨겨졌거나 벌레가 수없이 들어있어 문을 열면 벌레의 습격을 받게 될 거라며 질색하며 돌아갑니다. 챈들러의 집착은 빛을 발해서 결국 문을 뜯어 모니카의 비밀을 밝혀냅니다. 그 곳은 엉망진창으로 모든 물건이 쌓여있는 창고였습니다.

모니카는 피비의 마사지를 받다가 습관적으로 신음소리를 내고, 이는 피비를 불편하게 만듭니다. 피비의 마사지가 마음에 든 모니카는 다음 마사지를 예약하려고 하는데 자꾸 높아지는 가격 앞에 어리둥절해합니다. 결국 피비는 모니카에게 알려줍니다. 

임신한 레이첼 곁에 벌어지는 모든 일들에 함께 사는 조이가 겪게 되자, 병원에서는 조이를 아버지로 생각합니다. 매번 레이첼과 아이의 첫 순간을 놓치게 되자 속상해하는 로스! 조이는 레이첼과 로스가 함께 살 것을 권유합니다...^^

Chandler becomes obsessed with finding out what is inside Monica's locked closet. Phoebe feels betrayed when she discovers Monica has been using a different massage therapist. Ross feels left out after missing their baby's first kick especially when Joey is mistaken for the father. Joey, feeling bad about the situation, suggests that Rachel should move in with Ross even though he wants Rachel to live with him.

Chandler: So, Ross is kind of bummed?

when you get massaged.

Phoebe: Yeah, and it rally freaked me out.
내가 얼마나 놀랐다고
And after a while, I even tried to hurt you
and it just spurred you on.
좀 덜할까 싶어 세게 했더니
아주 자지러지더라

Monica: How did you get in there?

Chandler: hehehe

Monica: No! You weren't supposed to see this!

You know, I like being on my own. I'm better off this way. (레이첼이 로스네 집으로 이사가고 챈들러가 와서 어떠냐고 조이에게 물었더니 조이가 괜찮은척 대답한다)
