프렌즈 시즌8 : 23 24화 영어 표현 take breath away, start a family

시트콤 <프렌즈>로 영어공부 하신다고요? 저도 그렇습니다. 10회 시청을 목표로 7회 차 정주행 중입니다. 처음엔 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하고, 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다.
이렇게 봐도 봐도 재밌고, 새롭게 보이는 부분도  있고, 아직도 배우는 부분이 있다는 게 놀랍기도 한데요. 그만큼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. ^^

시즌 8: 24화 "레이첼의 출산 2부" 줄거리 ▼
레이첼은 예정일을 지나 노력끝에 출산 하러 갑니다. 세미 프라이빗 룸에서 많은 산모들이 들어왔다 나가는 걸 지켜보게 됩니다. 그녀의 출산은 길고 더디게 이뤄지죠. 챈들러와 모니카는 병원 구석구석을 돌아다니며 새 생명을 만들기 위해 노력합니다. 피비는 엘리베이터 앞에서 다리 깁스한 남자를 만나 그의 병실을 찾기위해 조이와 함께 머리를 씁니다. 조이가 닥터 드레이크 흉내를 내면서 그의 정보를 알아냅니다. 심지어는 그의 연애 비즈니스에 대해서도 알아내죠. 그리고서 피비가 그의 방에 들어가 그와 좋은 시간을 보냅니다.

로스는 레이첼의 곁을 지키면서 어머니로부터 반지를 받습니다. 결혼은 아니라고 생각하던 로스는 반지는 받되, 레이첼에게 프로포즈 하지는 않습니다. 피비는 자꾸만 왜 레이첼과 결혼하지 않는지 묻고 또 묻고 로스가 스스로의 생각을 돌아볼 수 있도록 조언을 해줍니다. 마침내 출산을 마친 레이첼은 호르몬으로 눈물이 많아진 상황. 조이가 레이첼을 다독이고 휴지를 건내주려다가 로스의 옷에서 반지함을 발견하고 그걸 열어본 찰나에 레이첼은 그 모습을 보고 조이가 청혼을 한다고 생각하게 됩니다. 과연 레이첼은 승낙을 했을까요? 조이는 어떻게 대처했을까요?..^^

Ross and Rachel arrive frantically at the hospital and are taken into a semi-private labor room. Ross's mother gives him a family heirloom ring and encourages him to propose to Rachel. Ross hesitates, and puts the ring in his jacket, which he later leaves in Rachel's room. After Monica jokes about having kids, she and Chandler decide to have a baby, starting while they are still at the hospital. They end up having sex in a closet and are seen making love by Monica's father, Jack, who is excited at the prospect of them trying. After a prolonged labor (of 21 hours), during which numerous other expectant mothers, including Janice, are taken to the delivery room, Rachel gives birth to baby Emma. She is left saddened and afraid after Janice later says that Ross may not always be there for her and the baby. When Joey comforts Rachel, the ring falls from Ross's jacket to the floor. Joey kneels to pick it up, and Rachel, believing he is proposing, impulsively says yes. Meanwhile, Ross intends to ask Rachel if she wants to resume their relationship.

But honey, you two are on your own. (레이첼에게 에마와 둘이 전부라고, 알아서 해야 된다고 조언해주는 재니스)
I know, If you try to make it more, you might wreck it. Or you might get everything you've wanted since you were 15. (다시 레이첼과 합쳤다가 떨어지면 에마한테 너무나 몹쓸 일이라며 주저하는 로스에게  다시 레이첼과 잘해보도록 응원해주는 피비)
Hey. Do you realize that we may have just changed our lives forever? We may have just started our family. (청소실에서 챈들러와 나오더니 황홀하게 얘기하는 모니카)
