프렌즈 시즌1: 8화 영어 표현 set up with , get at

영어공부 하시나요? 저도 그렇습니다. 시트콤 <프렌즈>를 10회 시청을 목표로 9회 차 정주행 중입니다. 가장 먼저 무자막, 그다음엔 영어 자막, 그리고 영어 자막과 한국어 자막을 켜고 보다가, 쉐도잉 하면서 어휘와 이디엄을 찾고 있습니다. 구동사도 추가했지요. 처음에는 10회 차까지 반복하게 되면 무척 질릴 것이라고 생각했습니다. 분명 그런 시간이 있었지만, 이제는 정이 들어서 또 봐도 재밌고, 여전히 새롭게 보이는 부분이 있고, 시즌10이 끝나면 아쉽기도 합니다. 작별인사 하면서 울기도 몇 번 울었습니다. 이처럼 <프렌즈>와 코드가 어느 정도 맞고, 꼭 반복해서 봐야겠다는 의지가 충만합니다. 서론은 줄이고, 공부하며 알게 된 어휘나 이디엄을 한 회당 3개 정도 공유합니다. :)

시즌 1: 8화 "할머니의 장례식" 줄거리 ▼

겔러 남매의 할머니가 돌아가셔서 장례식에 참석하고, 챈들러는 게이로 오해받아서 자신이 정말 게이로 보이는지 궁긍합니다. 알고보니 친구들도 챈들러를 처음 봤을 때 게이로 오해했다는 데요. 그에게 있는 퀄리티는 무엇일까요. 

Ross and Monica rush to the hospital with their parents Jack and Judy when their elderly maternal grandmother Nana is taken ill. After she passes, the family individually go in to say their goodbyes. Ross and Monica are shocked when their "dead" grandmother momentarily revives before dying again. The gang attend Nana's funeral, where Monica subtly confronts her mother about her constantly critical attitude. Ross, who fell into an open grave and hurt his back, becomes loopy on muscle relaxers, and Joey, Jack and other men at the funeral end up listening to a New York Giants football game. Chandler is astounded when a work friend tries fixing him up with a male colleague, and wants to find out why most of his co-workers and others initially think he is gay.

believe (you) me : 

1. :You can use believe you me to emphasize that what you are saying is true.
2. An expression pretty much meaning "believe me", only with an unnecessary "you" inserted in the middle.
   
3. 보통  believe me를 봐서 의아했는데, believe you me 로도 쓰이네요.
